    Dr. Patriquin is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Clinician Investigator at the University of Toronto. He attended McMaster University for hematology fellowship and a subsequent clinical scholarship in complement-mediated diseases. His primary interests include complement-mediated diseases, including PNH and thrombotic microangiopathies, as well as apheresis medicine. His Masters in health research methodology focused on effective trial and observational methods in rare diseases. In 2015, Dr. Patriquin completed an honorary clinical research fellowship in PNH (NHS National PNH Service in Leeds) and TMA (University College London). He is Chair of the Canadian PNH Network, site investigator for a number of therapeutic trials in complement-mediate diseases, serves on the executive board of the International PNH Registry, and is a member of the TMA Working Group of the Canadian Apheresis Group. In 2016, he joined the University Health Network where he is a consultant in hematology and apheresis.

    Christoph Licht is Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto (Canada) and Staff Physician in the Division of Nephrology at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto (Canada). As Clinician Scientist, his research focuses on complement-mediated kidney diseases. With his translational research program he has advanced the understanding of the pathogenesis and management of aHUS and C3G. His lab has made major contributions to the understanding of the consequences of complement activation on platelets, neutrophils and endothelial cells. With his current research he is investigating the role of complement as master regulator of tissue homeostasis in various tissues and diseases including chronic proteinuric kidney disease, and injury of skeletal muscle and neuronal tissue.
